IDF Home Front Command begins gas mask distribution
Following a trial distribution the IDF Home Front Command began distributing gas masks around the country this week through the Israel Postal Authority.
The handout will be via direct mail or distribution stations that will open in stages throughout the country. This is the first time a direct postal distribution will be carried out.
To receive home delivery resident must call the Israel Postal Authority’s 171 hotline and arrange a set time for delivery. This delivery service will cost 25 NIS per household.
A few weeks ago the Home Front Command and the Israel Postal Authority conducted an experiment in the Bikat Ono area, where they have distributed 70,000 protection kits to residents of the area.
Distribution points are now slated to open in Ashdod and Rishon LeZion, followed by eight additional stations in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area, Jerusalem, Beer Sheva, Haifa and the Haifa Bay communities.
Additional distribution stations will be set up later. Meanwhile, the Home Front Command has launched an ad campaign to encourage Israelis to equip themselves with the protection kits.
