Car stolen with baby in backseat
Jerusalem Dispatch Staff
A car with a three-month-old baby girl was stolen from Jerusalem’s Gilo neighborhood Friday. Police forces went into pursuit and succeeded in locating the car in an Arab village with the baby safe and sound.
Friday morning, while the parents stood outside the car talking, an unidentified man suddenly jumped into the car and sped off, without noticing a baby in the backseat. Extensive police forces, including a helicopter, were immediately dispatched and started combing the area.
Thanks to a GPS tracking device installed on the car, they soon located the stolen vehicle near Bethlehem in the village of Al-Hadar. Police believe after the suspect discovered the baby, he stopped and abandoned the vehicle to avoid capture.
